Das bisherige Forum ist auch nur eine Leihgabe von Jörg Unkelbach, dem Gründer der Fun-Liga. Insoweit bleibt alles beim alten, wenn wir uns jetzt einem anderen Gastgeber anvertrauen. Da einige alte Threads auch heute noch nützlich oder aus "historischen" Gründen von Interesse sein könnten, sollte es aber durch eine Verlinkung - zumindest temporär - möglich sein, noch auf die Inhalte des alten Forums zuzugreifen.

Technisch wird das neue Forum wohl nicht schlechter sein als das Jetzige. Optisch sieht es auf jeden Fall besser aus.
Mit einigen anderen Ligen gemeinsam in einen Forum aufzutreten, ist sicher von Vorteil. Da kann man sich schnell informieren, was bei den anderen so los ist. Und umgekehrt sind wir als Geli auch für die anderen nur einen Mausklick entfernt, was vielleicht den einen oder anderen GPL-Racer motivieren könnte, über den Tellerrand zu schauen.

Geli und Fun-Liga sollten natürlich jeweils einen eigenen Bereich haben - wie bisher. Evtl. kann man die Grobstruktur innerhalb der Bereiche noch etwas verbessern.

Die Rolle des Moderators sollte wie bisher von uns selbst wahrgenommen werden.

there was not the usual list of who drives which car in 2024 so I picked the Lotus - assuming this would be the least chosen car (maybe even by no one ?? we'll see)
I hope that is okay. Though technically that is not allowed I say it regardless: I can always change to any car if that helps. (mind that I will probably again participate in only a few races...)

A victory at Indy is very much cherished! Awesome.

It was only possible thanks to a top setup (I had 5 or so unused laying in the setup folder. Lucky pick, I guess!).
The car seemed to be "un-spinnable" . Just the price seemed to be reduced top-speed, as far as I could deduct. I'll explore into it, the next time I'm here in a Lotus (if I'll remember it after X years... hahaha)

Despite the top setup + Lotus advantage it took me half the race to reach Claudio. (If I had started at the back maybe it would have been a different story...) I think he - but also most of the other drivers - did an awesome job! At the end of the race I wasn't that far off from Claudio and the others. Congratulations. Strong performances!
I am just glad, I didn't influence the championship by crashing with anyone... Mission accomplished. :)

@Claudio Callipo Sorry to have "spoiled the party" - considering I'm currently just a "guestdriver". :/

I had a sloppy and careless "qualy" (i.e. reconnaissance) -lap and crashed out pretty early. So.. not much learning this year, I guess. I didn't like how careless I was - this mental state wasn't very promising for the race.... And I was very tired from little sleep throughout the week.

Anyways, there goes the starter flag... It wasn't easy getting into a rhythm with "nervous" Albrecht around... :P Once I was alone, I could start with "getting into the game & track". But already in lap 1 I started to get cross-eyed from sleepiness... :o :D A few wall-slaps & damage in that lap.

Lap 2 was really a cool drive. Amazing how much a brain can recall after months and months. I really felt like I "know" the track. I had a good time.

Lap 3 I think exhaustion kicked in and it was a pretty botched up lap with a few occasions that could've/should've ended my race............ but didnt! :D Towards the end it even felt like I had brake failure. I couldn't slow down well and had a few crashes which again could've been a "silly & unnecessary" end just a few kilometers short of the finish line... ayayay....

But yes: it's amazing but I eventually made it to the checkered!!! (sorry for the waiting ;) :D )
It's always special and it always means a lot. Especially with the Lotus and its fragile engine (I never exceeded 9300rpm though)
[Crossing the s/f line starting lap 3 I mixed up the button to raise the arm with the button of the clutch and revved up the engine! You can imagine how (stupid) I felt like I just killed my engine/race then and there... :O :D ]
