INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION
1/ Manually install the GEMP2.exe update ( to Program files/GPLSecrets/Gem+ ) which will update Gem+ to version 2.5.32. This Gem+ update is essential for the 67 Patch to work.
2/ Run the 67 Patch installer. Check the install path. The default install path is C:\Sierra\GPL. IF YOUR GPL INSTALL HAS A DIFFERENT PATH YOU MUST CHANGE THE PATH WHEN PROMPTED.
3/Remove the gplc67.exe from your gpl folder.
4/Start Gem+ and hit the gpl button or exit Gem+ to create a new patched gplc67.exe

No problem Dan. The reason for my slow start was the engine went pop! I saw someone say "restart" in the chat window so I pulled over but the restart never came so I was out.

HINWEIS 2 Frühere gespeicherte Rundenzeiten der 66er player.ini können verloren gehen. Um dies zu vermeiden, mache eine Sicherung deiner 66er player.ini und kopiere die Rundenzeiten nach der Installation des Patches und Neuerstellung der gplc66.exe (durch Beenden von GEM+) wieder hinein.
HINWEIS FÜR BETA TESTER Falls du eine frühere Version der Long Track Option in GEM+ hast, setzte nicht den Haken für die Long Track Option in GEM+ für die neue 66er oder 65er Version, denn die Unterstützung für lange Strecken ist bereits in diese Versionen implementiert.
INSTALLATION

Sorry for the contact I had with a Brabham on lap 1.
I could not drive the track, the car was all over the road. So I gave up before making more accidents. I have the same problem at Nurby in 69 but not as bad as at Sachsenring. It seems to be worst on very undulating and bumpy tracks.
Sorry I missed training, I got home from work late and turned on the computer with 2 mins left of training. I had no setup so decided it was too late to join.
I am sorry to have caused controversy over my late stop/go. After the race I told everyone what had happened and that it was a genuine mistake. I was then and am still quite happy to accept any penalty for my mistake.
As for the race, I had given particular attention to my car setup for turns 1,2,3 and 4 because I saw these as the key to fast laps and overtaking opportunities onto the long straight. After my engine exploded on lap 1 I thought I was out of it, and it surprised me how fast I could go now that I had to. If Matthes had not spun in the last few laps I doubt I would have caught him and I would have been happy with 2nd after a great charge from the back of the field. As it was, I was gifted the victory by Matthes mistake. ( pending penalty )
Unfortunately that means I have to drive the Lotus 63 again.
Congratulations to all that took part in the 2008 season. We had some nice racing and a close championship. A big thanks to the admins and server hosting for making this possible.
I am sorry I could not make Nurburgring. On Monday 15th my Hard Disk crashed and it has taken me a week to buy and install the new one and then install windows and everything else I need ( especially GPL ! )

Why not keep the same server pass word instead of announcing it in chat ? That way if someone is late and all have left chat, they will know what the pass word is and can still join.
If we stay with Thursday I can make 100% of races.
Pit's idea of mixing classes could be fun but it does not appeal so much to me. But I would be ok if the main championship was one class and the alternate weeks that we normally use for training were used as non championship different classes.
Has anyone thought more about a dedicated server ?
Many thanks to Ferdi for all the hosting he has done. I understand if he wants to step down. I could host if needed and Odi has said the same, but I think we should try and secure a dedicated server if possible.
The first attempt went well until the end of qually, at which point everyone discoed apart from Mario. The server did not crash but this left just me and Mario to start the race so we decided to return to chat.
The second attempt went without problems but because time was running short we decided to have just 5 mins qually to allow everyone to join. Unfortunately Pit was not able to join.
I am not sure why Achim has a bad connection to my server as he seems to be the only one. I recently hosted a Thunder Car championship with users connecting from Europe and America and no one reported bad connection.
Hopefully Ferdi's server will be ok for next week.

I am sorry for the incident on lap 1. As I approached the hairpin my frame rate dropped below 10 fps and I could not control the car. It was strange because it was ok during qually and normally my system handles tracks ok ( even Montjuich ) so I do not know what happened.
Odi or myself can host Oulton for the next two Thursdays so no problem.

so I have to drive that Lotus63 again ? I was hoping my 5th place at Monsanto would get me out of that car but it seems not.
