Managed to pick up a couple of places at the start and ended up behind Mike going onto the straight. Followed him through the esses and the first drop. He hit trouble over the second drop and I was forced to stop my car in avoidance. Had to allow the field behind me to pass before reversing and continuing on. Picked up a spot as Iestyn took the wide line through Archy Simth's corner. Rest of the race was spent on trying to catch Greg and Claudio interrupted by two spins along the way. Not much company during that, just as well the track is a challenge in itself.

Spend most of the 80 laps in formation with Lasse, passing each other as we went around. After the start Harald was up front as well but he lost contact after an early spin.
Beside the moment I had to fit the Eagle between the wall and a spun Lotus, the race settled into a nice rhythm. Lasse would pass me out of T2 and I would take back the lead over S/F. Towards the last quarter Harald managed to close in on us but I think he lost his drafting partner so he stalled out with 2 seconds to go. Would have been an interresting situation having 4 cars fight for the win on the last lap. Still great drive making up for that early spin.
So we went into the last lap as a duo. Up to now Lasse kindly gave me the inside through the trioval anytime I just flinched to the left out of T4. I was pretty certain he wouldn't this lap though and so he did. As usual he passed me going into 3. I was a little to close to him and had to tuck out of the draft in the middle of the turn, which in turn destroyed any chance I had of slingshoting around the outside. Anyway P2 is fine with me, 200km of flatout racing without as much as a scratch on both cars, just awesome. Grats.

Quite happy how the race turned out. I couldn't get a good draft in practice. In the end I decided to cruise around and wait for someone to give me a lift, didn't work that well either. Got P7 in the end.

Bit of confusion at the start of the formation lap lead to Rainer starting ahead of me instead of behind. I somehow assumed he was infront of me and I couldn't see him due to the initial gird placement. Anyway coming up to the start my plan to go round the outside was foiled by Kelvins engine but I could duck by Rainer on the inside of T1.
Got past David somehow and even though I could run with the leading pack but my tires soon gave up.
David soon caught me and I figured we could work our way towards the leaders so I let him by without much resistance trying to close the gap while we traded places. This didn't work out either, notice a theme here ;-)
So after 30-35 laps I was 2 secs of David 10 ahead of the driver behind me. Trying to keep the tires in a good enough condition and still go reasonably fast. Which was something that finally worked, I've got to learn to run my own race on Ovals and not go chasing after faster drivers.
In the last third of the race I found a driver who was on the same level as me. We run about 1-2 secs apart for 20 laps or so, I gained slightly into T1 he would get better through T2(or T4 as the Americans say :-)).
Caught him with 8 laps to maybe thanks to BRM #8.

All in all I had a great race no win but most consistent driver that's got to count for something :D
