What a race that was. Non-stop battle for the lead with my edging out by not much.
I hadn't done any practice running qualifying fuel as I was investing my time perfecting my setup with 38 gallons on board. I only started on it half an hour before qualifying. By the end I had one I was happy with, but didn't had the time for a qualifying lap. But it wasn't too much a bother since the grid was small.
I got off the line well and found myself joining Claudio and Lasse fighting for first. For 10 laps or so I kept up with the Ferrari until I hit a tire kerb at the kink before the final turn. Luckily my car didn't went into any barriers and Lasse could pass me safely. Next lap Lasse went wide at the same place at which I retrieved second place, but with Claudio having a few seconds of air, which also seemed to have helped his pace as I couldn't get closer.
Just past the halfway point, the gap has remained stagnant, until Claudio suddenly crumbled, which prompted me in the lead. Now it was my race to lose, and I found that Lasse was beginning to push and getting in the mirrors. And with that, I was driving a bit more looking in my mirrors, instead of... well, forward.
When the gap between us was increasing a bit it lifted the mirror-driving also withered away and I began driving new fastest laps. With just a couple of laps left all that was left to do was to take the flag and here we are :)

I'm stoked with the win. It was long, hard fought race, very rewarding. These kinds of race are rare online and I don't do them a lot, but I'm looking to join the GELI grid more often this year. I won't make all races but I'll try to be there when I can.
I'm looking to join tonight's race. I have driven here in a bit so I do not remember the password anymore. From what I remember you get that (and other information) on how to join the server by mail, but I cannot find that in my inbox anymore so I'm a little stuck. Can you help me out, please?
I had a good getaway off the line and got already past Tim's Brabham next to me. But after him there was no space to go somewhere so I stayed on line on the left side of the track. Suddenly I feel contact and my front right was gone.
I wouldn't know what I could have done about this. I saw the replay, to me it looks like Tim made a move to the left while I was already there. Mildly put, that was not clever.
I promoted the event on GPLRACER, oAo, the GPL Facebook and SRMZ. And there was no password for joining, the lobby was open. Doesn't seem very 'private', I think ;) The race counted 15 drivers, so it was pretty successful in that regard.
GPLRacer doesn't drive with 36 FPS so I couldn't change that. I remember discussions being held, but it has never changed to 60 FPS because it is less reliable. The league is more diverse/experimental in terms of track choices unlike most leagues. (Skarpnak, Jankkala, Beal Valley, Hilltop, Marloboro, to name a few) And it's something I like about the league as well (I did pick a couple of those tracks ;) ) I think for that reason as well we want to reduce risk of disco/freezes. Might be worth bringing it up again, I'm an advocate for 60 FPS. Maybe I can convince the others for some fun races in the summer with it.
I tried driving without FFB due to my problems with my wheel, but I wasn't acclimatised to it. Too many things went wrong. Sorry for everyone who got tangled.
Sorry, I wanted to join tonight, but I'm having trouble with the FFB of my G920. Whenever I turn, the FFB seems to be going in ticks, pretty choppy, I feel like something's wrong with it... I hope it is not broken.
A very thrilling race last night. Lasse and Robert always stayed in my mirrors, there was no running away from them despite having a stronger car. I also made so many small errors that costed me seconds when I made a slight gap. The bumpy surface is very unforgiving. Neither are the tyre kerbs.
Fortunately I just about hold on the lead to take the flag first. Great racing :)
Couldn't match the lap times I could do in qualifying and was just outclassed by the Chaparrals on the straights especially. I think I did get closer to Axel and Tim especially in the first section, the Ferrari is quite agile despite being a bit heavier, but their acceleration/top speed more than makes up for it. Plus some gear choices were not the best so I think I could have gotten out more of the exit of turn before the back straight.
