I have AMD I think

For AMD it depends on your CPU generation...

- Athlon II and Phenom II can be influenced by software from desktop
- FX must disable Cool and Quiet in bios...

Main thing is to not let CPU fall in energy saving mode!
Maybe in W7 Energy settings " Höchstleistung" is needed

Same for your Graphics card, make high quality settings to let it run in 3D mode!

..in my case I have to set Graphics card options to "High Performance" not "High Quality"!

Ich empfehle für eine genauere Analyse den Open Hardwaremonitor,
den kann man während einer Session im Hintergrund laufen lassen und nachher graphisch sehen was die CPU und GPU gemacht haben

Bei meiner NV GTX960 schalted sie nicht in 3D mode bei "high performance" aber bei "high quality"...

I am doing 2.50 laps atm and hope to improve in the Cooper

@fps-stutter:
- OpenGL is many times better performing than Direct3D, did you try?
- you could open your TaskManager and look for performance lowering programs running in the background
- setting my NVidia to "Quality-High Performance" did it for me

Thanks Tim. Together with Cocckie we investigated why the system keeps saving power even when in the BIOS the cpu is told to deliver full at any time.
The wanswer is not found yet. We try to intall a hardware tweaker but no luck sofar.

If you are running win7 take a look at "power options" in the control panel.

did that, it's on Performance.

..maybe something (cpu/vcard) is overheating and starts to reduce it´s voltage-consumption?
- you could try to reduce grafic-features inside the sim

Reduced the effects already. I think you're right, could well be a temperature problem. I will clean the coolers etc.
